Changes to this years event!
Greetings everyone and welcome to the official web site of TAPSCON: A Paranormal Odyssey. My name is Brent Fair and I am one of the Co-Founders and Organizer of TAPSCON. I just wanted to take a moment and relay a few significant changes from last year ('08) to you.
First, I want to thank everyone personally, that made their way to Florida to attend our event last July. It was an honor to have you as a guest and we hope you enjoyed your stay with us. Second, I want to recognize some of the complications that peaked during the weekend and some of the pre-con issues that we want to make different:
No More Extra Registrations for VIP Package Holders-
One of the bigger mistakes in planning for the previous event, was requiring VIP's to register separately for VIP only lectures. This was a logistical complication and we will never be repeating that policy again. In 2009, all VIP's get into the lectures and receive forward seating (Placed in front of the General Admission guests). No extra registrations to complicate things. A VIP is a VIP!
Advanced Printable Schedules-
During last years event, we ran into some issues with our printer and were unable to supply a sufficient amount of printed itineraries for our guests. We also waited until the last minute to amend schedules to accommodate 11th hour line up changes. This year, we are placing deadlines on the final schedules and will be printing in higher volumes to make sure there are plenty of accurate, ready schedules to pass around for everyone. Guests at this years TAPSCON will be well informed!
General Admission + (Plus)-
One of the biggest complaints regarding last years event, was the fact that not everyone got to enter into and enjoy each lecture. This year, we have changed that! We are allowing a large number of General Admission + (Plus) ticket holders into the lectures. How can we do this in 2009 when we couldn't in 2008? Simple: We moved the lectures into the enormous Tiffany Ballroom! Now you can enjoy the best lectures and not hold a VIP Package. Sure there is a premium price for these but these tickets are in high demand and we want to make sure everyone gets a chance to attend the lectures, by purchasing the General Admission + (Plus) tickets! More organized lines-
We will be implementing an advanced line system in 2009 so that the folks waiting for autographs, can move up a little faster. Last year it was a bit difficult to plan the lines out, without seeing the flow of traffic through certain portions of the hotel. Now that we know, we will install a more efficient line system for your 2009 autograph experience.
No more external events/ venues-
In 2008, with the addition of multiple packages and additional venues/hotels, we found it very difficult to maintain any level of customer service that we were satisfied with. This year (in 2009), we will keep everything in house, meaning at the Belleview Biltmore Resort. No more hoping from hotel to hotel an less shuttle frustrations. Additionally, with the unfortunate and sudden seizure of the Royalty Theater on the Thursday just before TAPSCON, we have decided to keep all of our ghost hunts within the Biltmore as well. Less venues = Less confusion & frustration.
